The United Arab Emirates and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste are exploring opportunities to strengthen trade and investment ties and advance cooperation across priority sectors. Areas of potential cooperation include renewable energy, shipbuilding, airport modernization, maritime infrastructure, and logistics, alongside broader opportunities in the blue economy.
The two countries signed an Air Services Agreement on October 19, 2021, providing a framework for bilateral cooperation in air services.
Cooperation also includes UAE support for educational infrastructure, alongside discussions on human resources development, institutional capacity building, and technical assistance to support Timor-Leste’s development priorities.
