Since the foundation of the UAE, wise leadership has greatly endeavored to advance the UAE in all areas and aspects. Within a short period, the leadership succeeded in laying the cornerstone for the most significant sectors which contributed to the UAE's advancement. In the past five decades it achieved remarkable internal achievements, provided well-being and security for the UAE people and residents, adopted the policy of good neighborliness in its Gulf and Arab surroundings away from disputes, and worked with dedication to serve the Arab and Islamic causes
During the past fifty years, the UAE has achieved high rates of sustainable development at the local level and provided security, stability, happiness, satisfaction, and well-being for its citizens. At the regional and international levels, it has assumed an advanced and prestigious position on the map of the most advanced, prosperous, and stable countries in the world.
Under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE (may Allah protect him), and with the start of the second fifty years, the UAE played an important influential pivotal role in making events globally and resolving conflicts, and actively participated in all the activities that would provide security and peace in the world and fight the scourge of terrorism.
Since the era of the late Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may he rest in peace), the UAE has devoted itself as a key player and an important partner in the success of peace initiatives at the regional and international levels, based on its human heritage and civilized mission built on upholding the values of love, tolerance, and rejection of intolerance.
During the past five decades, the UAE participated in several peacekeeping initiatives and operations under the umbrella of international legitimacy with the aim of defusing crises, addressing the dangers of wars, and mitigating their effects on people. The UAE was also the lead contributor to humanitarian relief and reconstruction projects for many areas that witnessed disputes and wars during the past fifty years.
Since its establishment, the UAE adopted a successful policy and distinguished relations with all the countries of the world, built upon peace, mutual respect, and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries. The UAE is a global model of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among different peoples, as more than 200 nationalities live on its territory, and it has diplomatic relations with more than 190 countries around the world. It also has more than 110 foreign embassies, 73 consulates, and regional headquarters for dozens of regional and international organizations.
The UAE has launched several initiatives and awards that encourage spreading the culture of peace and tolerance around the world, including the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, "may Allah protect him", and the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for World Peace", launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, "may Allah protect him".
