During the meeting in Abu Dhabi, the two sides discussed cooperation relations between the UAE and the AUC, and ways to enhance cooperation in support of development efforts in African countries.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah congratulated Youssouf on his appointment as the AUC Chairperson, expressing his eagerness to work with him to advance and strengthen UAE–African relations across various fields.
Sheikh Abdullah also reaffirmed the UAE’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the AUC and to consolidate positive and prosperous relations with friendly African nations, in line with shared aspirations to achieve sustainable development and economic prosperity.
The two sides also reviewed regional and international developments and exchanged views on them.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and Mohamed Salem Ahmed Al Rashdi, UAE Ambassador to Ethiopia and the country’s Permanent Representative to the African Union.
