  • Economic cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Armenia has experienced strong growth in recent years, driven by an ambitious bilateral legal framework and a shared commitment to expanding trade and investment. The UAE is now among Armenia's top three trading partners and one of the leading destinations for Armenian exports. Bilateral trade in sectors including precious stones and metals, agricultural and food products, machinery and equipment, aluminum products, and medical and electronic devices reached approximately USD 5.3 billion in 2024. In addition, the UAE recorded a historic high of USD 4.5 billion in non-oil trade with Armenia in 2025.

  • This growing economic partnership is underpinned by more than 27 bilateral agreements covering investment protection, avoidance of double taxation, and trade facilitation. Among the most significant are the Trade in Services and Investment Agreement, signed in Abu Dhabi in February 2026, and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), signed in June 2025 and expected to enter into force in mid-2026. The agreement will eliminate or reduce customs duties on more than 80% of traded goods and provide preferential access for 217 categories of Armenian export products to the UAE market.

  • The strength of this economic relationship is also reflected in a growing portfolio of strategic investments. Emarat has entered the Armenian market through a strategic partnership with Megatrade to develop a nationwide network of service stations, with the first station expected to open before the end of June 2026. In the financial sector, the Armenia Securities Exchange (AMX) and the Central Depository of Armenia have joined Tabadul, the digital trading platform of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX). Meanwhile, investment cooperation has expanded into the industrial sector through the establishment of a new Abu Dhabi-based steel venture by GTB Group in partnership with Safe Group.
