"The UAE Embassy and the National University of the Maldives celebrate Emirati Women's Day 2026 under the slogan 'We Appear Stronger and Better'"

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the Republic of Maldives, in partnership with the Maldives National University, organized a special event to celebrate Emirati Women's Day, observed this year under the theme "We Are the Strongest and the better , in the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Erushiyam Adam, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives.

Ms. Heba Al Jneibi, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the Republic of Maldives, highlighted the progress achieved by Emirati women along a journey inspired by the vision of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may his soul rest in peace), and which continues today under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State (may God protect him), and under the patronage and support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, "Mother of the Nation," President of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.

AlJneibi stated: "This theme represents a new phase that transcends the traditional concept of empowerment," describing Emirati women as an inspiring model for women everywhere, and noting that the National Policy for Empowering Emirati Women 2023–2031, together with the Mother of the Nation's 50:50 vision, chart the UAE's path in alignment with the UAE Centennial 2071.

For her part, Her Excellency Dr. Erushiyam Adam congratulated the government, people, and women of the United Arab Emirates on this occasion.

She said: "The UAE's efforts in supporting and empowering women affirm what can be achieved when women's participation is central to nation-building."

The Minister also praised the close and long-standing relations between the two countries, affirming the shared commitment to advancing close cooperation in a way that serves the interests of both friendly countries and peoples.

The event concluded with both sides affirming their commitment to partnership and to continued cooperation in support of women's empowerment and sustainable development in the United Arab Emirates and the Maldives.
