The UAE Embassy in Lima, in cooperation with the Inca Garcilaso Cultural Center of the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Emirati production company Image Nation, organized the UAE Cinema Week in the Republic of Peru, to screen 3 Emirati films translated into Spanish, from 8th To 12th June 2021, as part of a series of Emirati-Peruvian initiatives and the celebration the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UAE and the Republic of Peru, the Golden Jubilee of the UAE and the celebration of the Bicentennial of the Republic of Peru.
H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Alshamsi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Peru, gave an opening speech in which he indicated that this event is the first of its kind between the UAE and the Republic of Peru, it reflects the depth of the existing relations between the two countries, which will be strengthened within a broader framework and in many fields.
He also highlighted the development of Emirati cinema.
His Excellency Carlos Herrera, Director General of Cultural Affairs at the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Peruvian Cultural Center "Inca Garcilaso" delivered an opening speech on this occasion to highlight the level of bilateral relations that link the Republic of Peru with the UAE since its founding in 1986.
