The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Rwanda share a growing partnership in education, women's empowerment, and cultural exchange. Since 2018, the UAE has provided annual scholarships for Rwandan students to study at the United Arab Emirates University in disciplines including architecture, mechanical and electrical engineering, biology, biochemistry, and computer science.
The UAE also supports Rwanda's education sector by funding Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Girls' Science Secondary School in Muhanga and Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Secondary School in Kimisange, while the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation supports the Islamic Science Secondary School and the Islamic Cultural Center.
In addition, the UAE Embassy in Kigali, in partnership with the Rwanda Development Board, has delivered specialized capacity-building initiatives, including the "Empowering 100 Future Women Leaders in Hospitality Excellence" program, led by experts from the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management to equip participants with internationally recognized tourism and hospitality expertise.
