H.E. Mariam Alshamsi, UAE Consul General in Guangzhou, met with Ms. Yang Yanyan, Chairperson of CCPIT Guangxi Committee. The two sides discussed deepening bilateral cooperation in economy, trade and other fields.

H.E. Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to China, accompanied by H.E. Mariam Alshamsi, UAE Consul General in Guangzhou, visited the Coconut Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences in Wenchang, Hainan, and conducted a field visit to the China–UAE Friendship Forest of Date Palm to learn about date palm cultivation practices, management, and varietal adaptability. H.E. Al Hammadi noted that date palm is an important economic crop and a cultural symbol of the UAE, as well as a key bond linking the friendship between the UAE and China.
The two sides also reviewed the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing collaboration between the two countries on the coronavirus inoculations and treatments.
