UAE Chargé d’Affaires in Malé Participates in Tree-Planting Initiative on World Environment Day
Heba Aljneibi, Chargé d’Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Malé, participated in a tree-planting initiative organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives. The event was held on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026 and the 60th Anniversary of the Maldives’ membership in the United Nations, and in support of His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s "Five Million Trees Programme".
The UAE Embassy's participation reflects the strong bilateral ties and a shared commitment between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Maldives toward environmental stewardship, sustainable development, and climate action. This initiative contributes directly to Maldivian national efforts aimed at expanding green spaces and strengthening climate resilience, fostering a healthier, greener, and more sustainable future.
The event was attended by the Maldivian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Maldivian Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Technology, alongside representatives from United Nations offices in the Maldives, several high-level officials and the Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited to the Maldives.
