The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Cameroon have enjoyed longstanding and well-established bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries on February 24, 1975. Since then, relations have continued to witness steady growth across political, economic, and investment fields, supported by a series of high-level visits and meetings. Most recently, in March 2023, H.E. Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, met with H.E. Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cameroon, in Yaoundé, where both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and expand areas of cooperation in support of their shared interests.
Cooperation between the two countries has also advanced through the signing and ratification of several bilateral agreements, including the Air Services Agreement, the Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation on Income, and the Agreement on Mutual Visa Exemption.
