Bilateral Relations
Relations between the United Arab Emirates and the sisterly Sultanate of Oman are distinguished by their historical depth and enduring strength, anchored in close bonds of fraternity, kinship, and good neighborliness, as well as deep-rooted social and cultural ties between the two brotherly peoples. Under the guidance and continued support of the leadership of both countries, these relations have developed into a comprehensive and forward-looking partnership, founded on mutual trust, shared interests, and a common commitment to strengthening cooperation and integration across strategic and vital sectors.
The UAE–Oman Joint Higher Committee, established in 1991, serves as a key institutional framework for advancing bilateral relations and following up on joint initiatives and projects. Its work has contributed to expanding cooperation across a broad range of sectors, including economy, trade and investment, transport and logistics, financial markets and services, energy and infrastructure, innovation and technology, education and scientific research, healthcare, security and defense, as well as environment and sustainability.
The two brotherly countries continue to deepen their relations and broaden avenues for partnership and integration through bilateral agreements, memoranda of understanding, and joint projects and initiatives, in support of shared interests, sustainable development and prosperity, and the aspirations of both peoples.

Economic and investment cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the sisterly Sultanate of Oman represents a central pillar of their strategic partnership and a key driver of bilateral integration. This growing partnership is increasingly reflected in strategic, cross-border projects that strengthen connectivity and support long-term economic integration. Foremost among these is the UAE–Oman railway, alongside cooperation in special economic zones and ports, advanced technology, and renewable energy. These initiatives are creating new opportunities for investment and trade, strengthening regional supply chains and logistics connectivity, and enhancing the competitiveness of both economies.
Government entities, economic institutions, chambers of commerce, and business communities in both countries continue to advance private-sector partnerships and identify high-value investment opportunities, further broadening the economic relationship and supporting the sustainable growth and prosperity of both countries.
