H.E. Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi has served as the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the State of Kuwait since 2021, following a distinguished career marked by extensive leadership experience in the legal, government, energy, water, and climate sectors.
From 1999 to 2005, His Excellency served as a Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Defense. He subsequently held the position of Rapporteur of the Permanent Committee for Borders from 2005 to 2009, followed by Secretary-General of the Border Affairs Council from 2009 to 2011. From 2012 until May 2020, he served as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Industry.
His Excellency also served as Chairman of the Board of the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority from 2014 to 2017, and as a Board Member of the Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP) from 2012 to May 2020. In addition, he was a member of the Advisory Council of the College of Law at the United Arab Emirates University from 2016 to December 2020, and Vice Chairman of the World Energy Council for the Gulf States and the Middle East from November 2015 to October 2017.
H.E. Dr. Al Neyadi holds a Ph.D. in Public International Law from the University of Edinburgh.
