Economic and trade relations between the UAE and the Republic of Rwanda have enjoyed a remarkable development in recent years, and have witnessed an increase in economic cooperation and investments. These relations aim to enhance trade and investments between the two countries and achieve mutual benefits for both sides.

The UAE is a strong partner for Rwanda in trade and investment as Rwanda looks to attract more UAE investments in new economic sectors, while Rwanda is a major gateway for UAE exports to the African Great Lakes region.

In this context, the two countries have signed several important economic agreements, including avoidance of double taxation, air services, promotion and mutual protection of investments, and other agreements under negotiation to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.

The volume of trade exchange between the UAE and Rwanda has increased significantly, currently exceeding one billion US dollars (AED 3.67 billion).
