Cultural cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Iraq reflects the two countries' shared commitment to preserving cultural heritage, promoting intercultural dialogue, and strengthening collaboration across the fields of culture, education, and the arts.
A landmark example of this partnership is the UAE's support for the reconstruction and restoration of the historic Al-Nuri Grand Mosque and its iconic Al-Hadba Minaret in Mosul.
Implemented in partnership with UNESCO and ICCROM, the project represents one of Iraq's most significant cultural heritage restoration initiatives.
As part of the Revive the Spirit of Mosul initiative, the UAE also supported the restoration of Al-Saa'a Church, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding Iraq's rich cultural heritage, promoting religious coexistence, and preserving the historic identity of Mosul for future generations.
