Her Excellency Dr. Nariman Al Mulla, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Armenia, participated in a meeting hosted by His Excellency Arman Khojօyan and His Excellency Narek Hovakimyan, Deputy Ministers of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. The meeting brought together ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of the United Arab Emirates, the State of Kuwait, the State of Qatar, and the Republic of Iraq accredited to Armenia.
The meeting reviewed prospects for strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Armenia and its partner states, and examined available opportunities to expand bilateral trade volumes and encourage mutual investment. Discussions also covered initiatives aimed at supporting Armenian exports and diversifying target markets, thereby enhancing the resilience of the Armenian economy and opening new avenues for cooperation with markets across the region.
The discussions further addressed ways to develop trade links between Armenia and the Gulf states, strengthen engagement between business communities and the private sector, and explore opportunities for joint projects in a number of sectors of mutual interest, including food industries, agriculture, logistics, and trade.
The Armenian side affirmed the importance of economic partnership with the Arab Gulf states, highlighting the promising opportunities these markets offer for Armenian products and underscoring the importance of continued joint efforts to facilitate trade flows and strengthen cooperation between economic institutions on both sides.
Her Excellency Dr. Nariman Al Mulla reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at enhancing economic and trade cooperation with Armenia, in line with the growing bilateral relations between the two friendly nations and in service of shared interests and sustainable economic development. She also commended the signing of the Trade in Services and Investment Agreement between Armenia and the UAE, and Armenia’s ratification of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union, emphasizing the importance of leveraging the advantages and opportunities provided by both agreements to advance bilateral trade and investment.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants expressed their readiness to continue strengthening trade and economic relations between Armenia and the participating states, affirming the importance of building on cooperation achieved in recent years and exploring new partnership opportunities founded on mutual benefit - in service of the peoples and nations of the region.
