H.E. Abdulla serves as the ambassador at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Korea, and has an extensive career spanning leadership role across investment, energy, water, and public sector governance.
He began his professional service at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority as a Senior Analyst specializing in the U.S. market (1992–1997), followed by an assignment at the Privatization Committee for the water and electricity sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (1997–2011). He later served as Director General of the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) (2011–2016), contributing to the UAE’s development and privatization of the energy and water sectors.
During his career, he also served as Vice Chairman and CEO of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), and held board positions at Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, Al Ain Distribution Company, Abu Dhabi Transmission & Dispatch Company (TRANSCO), Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Company (ADWEC), Sohar Aluminum, and Oman Insurance Company. He was a member of the Follow-Up Committee for the Initiatives of His Highness the President and Chairman of the Emirati-Canadian Business Council.
In recognition of his leadership and achievements, he was awarded the “Personality of the Year in the Energy Sector” for the Middle East and North Africa region (2014) and the “Prime Minister’s Medal for Best Ambassador” during the sixth cycle of the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award (2022).
H.E. Abdulla holds several postgraduate degrees from institutions in the United States of America.
