Seminar in São Paulo Presents SAIF Zone as UAE's Industrial Gateway for Brazilian Companies

The Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in São Paulo is pleased to highlight the Business Seminar — Sharjah, the Industrial Hub of the United Arab Emirates — held on 12 June 2023 at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) auditorium, Avenida Paulista, São Paulo.

Organised by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, the event brought representatives of the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority (SAIF Zone) to São Paulo to present the benefits of establishing a business presence in the free zone to Brazilian companies. Expatriates operating from the SAIF Zone can own 100% of their businesses, repatriate funds with no currency restriction, and benefit from individual and corporate tax exemptions, customs tax exemptions, visas, and the possibility of hiring a fully foreign workforce.

The free zone seeks to attract organisations to use the space as an export hub, taking advantage of the emirate's logistical, tax, and customs advantages. At the time of the event, 20 Brazilian companies were already operating from the SAIF Zone. Sharjah concentrates 34% of the UAE's industries, is strategically positioned between a port and an airprt, and sits eight hours by flight from major consumption hubs in Europe and Asia, with free trade agreements granting access to two billion consumers at favourable rates.

The Consulate General of the UAE in São Paulo supports and encourages Brazilian companies to explore opportunities in the UAE's free zones as part of the strategic economic partnership between both nations.
