The UAE's cultural diplomacy in Sub-Saharan Africa highlights the strong relations and cultural similarities between the UAE and Africa.
  • Large diasporas from African nations living and working in the UAE have contributed significantly to our nation's development. As home to more than 200 nationalities, the UAE will continue welcoming the world as a renowned hub of interfaith tolerance and multiculturalism.  With many thousands of African residents calling the UAE their home, the UAE deeply values their contributions to our nation's development story and looks forward to the next chapter of cooperation between our regions.
  • The UAE seeks to share its knowledge and experiences with Africa and build cultural bridges that will support the expansion of an Emirati-African community. This year, the participation of African nations at Expo 2020 Dubai and the African Union itself with a dedicated pavilion will be a monumental opportunity to showcase the vibrant history of the continent and its potential to drive global economic growth following the pandemic.
  • Moreover, the UAE launched the Consortium for Africa in February 2020 with a committed investment of USD 500 million to help fulfil the vision of a "turbo-charged" and connected new Africa driven by youth.
  • Throughout the history of Africa and the Middle East, our two regions have engaged in the economic and people-to-people exchange. Our proximity to one another enables us to become active strategic partners, and this partnership will elevate our cultural and economic capabilities as a whole.
