Economic cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Bulgaria continues to grow, supported by a number of agreements and initiatives that have strengthened bilateral relations. As part of efforts to facilitate economic exchange, the two countries signed an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation on Income in Sofia in June 2007. In 2014, the UAE also exempted Bulgarian nationals from the requirement to obtain tourist visas, contributing to greater mobility and further promoting trade and tourism between the two friendly countries.
