H.E. Amna Almheiri has served as the UAE’s Consul General in New York since August 2021. A career diplomat, her experience spans key roles in the United States and Europe, alongside strategic leadership positions within the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
H.E. Almheiri began her career at the UAE Permanent Mission to the United Nations (2005–2010), where she represented the UAE in the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee, advocating for human rights and women's empowerment.
Upon returning to Abu Dhabi in 2010, Consul General Almheiri was a founding member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ (MOFA) Human Rights Department, eventually rising to the position of Director.
H.E. Almheiri holds a Bachelor’s degree Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Computer Engineering from the American University of Sharjah and a Master's Degree in Global Finance from the New School University in New York.
