H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, congratulated Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

The United Arab Emirates has expressed its solidarity with the friendly Republic of Indonesia following the fires that broke out in East Java Province, resulting in the deaths of several people.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them during a telephone call with Sugiono, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both countries and brings prosperity and well-being to their peoples.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Humanitarian Envoy of The Big Heart Foundation, announced the establishment of the “Jawaher Al Qasimi Humanitarian Innovation Center” at Indonesia’s Gadjah Mada University. The project is being implemented in partnership between The Big Heart Foundation, NAMA Women Advancement Establishment, and the University, with total funding of US$1.6 million. The centre aims to bridge academic knowledge and field-based humanitarian expertise in order to develop practical and sustainable solutions to humanitarian and development challenges, including food security, climate change, women’s empowerment, and child well-being.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Humanitarian Envoy of The Big Heart Foundation, visited a number of charitable projects and initiatives on the island of Bali in the Republic of Indonesia to learn about the needs of local communities and gain insights into the experiences of organisations working in the fields of education, empowerment, protection, and livelihood improvement. During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Sultan visited the Annika Linden Centre for supporting persons with disabilities, the Bali Life Foundation, and SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia. He was briefed on rehabilitation, education, economic empowerment, and child care programmes.

H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “may God protect him,” sent a congratulatory cable to H.H. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, on the occasion of his country’s Independence Anniversary. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” and H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, also sent similar congratulatory cables to H.E. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia.

The United Arab Emirates expressed its solidarity with the Republic of Indonesia following the earthquake that struck the country, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries, as well as significant material damage.

H.E. Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia and Timor Leste, discussed with H.E. Gusnar Ismail, Governor of Gorontalo Province, ways to enhance cooperation and develop sectoral potential in the province during a dinner hosted in his honour, attended by a number of local officials.

Dr. Anwar Hafidh, Governor of Central Sulawesi Province of the Republic of Indonesia, received H.E. Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia and Timor Leste, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance investment cooperation and explore promising economic opportunities in the province.

The Mayor of Palu, Indonesia, Hadianto Rasyid, received H.E. Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, at the city’s Special Economic Zone, where the two sides discussed investment cooperation and prospects for leveraging the zone’s potential. The Indonesian side highlighted the city’s strategic advantages, particularly its geographical location and proximity to the new capital city of Indonesia: “Nusantara”, in addition to the Pantoloan Port, whose natural deep-water characteristics support the development of the industrial and logistics sectors. For his part, the Mayor of Palu affirmed his government’s commitment to providing an attractive investment climate.

H.E. Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia and Timor Leste, discussed with H.E. Airlangga Hartarto, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, ways to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. Indonesia welcomed the UAE’s commitment to expanding the scope of cooperation to include food processing, food security, and supply chains. The Ambassador also highlighted the commitment of Abu Dhabi Exports Office to supporting food security in Indonesia, while Abu Dhabi Ports is preparing to conduct a feasibility study for the development of an airport in Bali, contributing to strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries.

H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), met with H.E. Marwan Dasubang, Chairman of the Religious and Social Affairs, Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection and Disaster Management Committee at the Indonesian House of Representatives, in the presence of H.E. Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste.

H.E. Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, discussed with H.E. Muzzakir Manaf, Governor of Aceh Province, ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, trade and air transport.

In a humanitarian and charitable initiative, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri attended the launch ceremony of a campaign to perform 500 eye surgeries in Central Kalimantan, in collaboration between the Noor Dubai Foundation, Indonesia’s Ministry of Health, and the Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association.
