H.E. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al Zaabi serves as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the League of Arab States. He brings more than two decades of diplomatic experience spanning the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE's diplomatic missions abroad.
His Excellency joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2004 as an Attaché in the International Organizations and Conferences Department. In 2006, he was appointed Third Secretary and assigned to the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations in New York. In 2011, he joined the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the French Republic, before returning to the Ministry to undertake a number of responsibilities in the field of multilateral diplomacy between 2015 and 2017.
On September 19, 2017, He was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. He subsequently served as Director of the International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before being appointed Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the League of Arab States on October 27, 2025. In 2026, he assumed his current position as Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
In recognition of his diplomatic contributions, H.E. Al Zaabi was awarded the UAE Medal of Honor by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, in 2019. He also received the Minister of Foreign Affairs Award for Outstanding Diplomat in 2016, in addition to honorary doctorates from the University of Karachi and the Institute of Art and Culture in Lahore in recognition of his efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
H.E. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al Zaabi holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the United Arab Emirates University and a master's degree in Administrative Science in Diplomacy and International Affairs from Fairleigh Dickinson University in the United States.
