Diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Rwanda have continued to strengthen since their establishment in 1995, underpinned by the shared commitment of both countries' leadership to advancing a strategic and forward-looking partnership.
The two countries have maintained active diplomatic engagement, marked by the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Abu Dhabi and its Consulate General in Dubai in 2015, followed by the opening of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Kigali in 2018.
These diplomatic missions have reinforced bilateral cooperation, facilitated trade and investment, and supported the expansion of partnerships across priority sectors.
