H.E. Sultan Mohammed Saeed Al Shamsi UAE Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan


H.E. Sultan Mohammed Saeed Al Shamsi serves as the UAE Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, following his appointment in September 2026. He brings more than 32 years of professional experience across the government and private sectors, encompassing international cooperation and development, strategic planning, foreign assistance, humanitarian action, finance, and logistics.

From 2016 to 2026, H.E. Al Shamsi served as Assistant Minister for Development and International Organizations Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this capacity, he led efforts to develop the UAE’s foreign assistance framework and oversaw the formulation of related national policies and strategies, ensuring the effectiveness of foreign assistance programs and their alignment with the UAE’s foreign policy priorities and development and humanitarian objectives.

He previously held several senior leadership positions, including Vice Chairman of the UAE International Aid Agency, Assistant Undersecretary for International Development at the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development, and Executive Director of the UAE Office for the Coordination of Foreign Aid.

His professional career also includes executive positions at the Ministry of Interior, Abu Dhabi’s transport regulatory authority, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, and Al Foah Company. He has represented the UAE on several boards and committees, including the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, Emirates Red Crescent, Dubai Cares, the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia UAE), and The Digital School. He also served as a member of the International Scientific Advisory Board of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD) and the International Advisory Committee on Health.

At the international level, H.E. Al Shamsi served as Co-Chair of the Stabilization Working Group of the Global Coalition. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Syria Recovery Trust Fund and chaired the Advisory Commission of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

H.E. Al Shamsi holds a Master of Business Administration in Information Management from the University of Southern Queensland in Australia and a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from UAE University.
