About the Ambassador

H.E. Salem Saeed Al Shamsi serves as the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and has an extensive diplomatic and administrative career spanning senior leadership positions within the UAE Government and key headquarters roles.

He began his professional career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he held several positions, including Director of Institutional Coordination and Government Communications. During this period, he contributed to strengthening government communication systems and enhancing institutional coordination across federal entities.

Prior to his appointment as Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 20 June 2023, he served as Director General at the Presidential Court, where he supported high-level administrative and strategic functions and contributed to national-level decision-making processes.

He has also served as a member of several national committees, including the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Committee during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the National Service and Reserve Authority Committee, reflecting his role in supporting national crisis management and strategic planning efforts.

H.E. Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi holds a Master’s degree in Personnel and Human Resources Management from the United States of America.
