His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, received, on Sunday, 6 September 2026, at Basman Palace, the credentials of His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Saeed Al Shamsi as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Ambassador Al Shamsi conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, to his brother, His Majesty King Abdullah II, wishing him continued good health and happiness, and to the brotherly Jordanian people continued progress and prosperity.

The Ambassador also expressed to His Majesty the King his pleasure at being appointed Ambassador of his country to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and his pride in the distinguished fraternal bilateral relations between the two countries. He affirmed that the UAE’s wise leadership has directed him to exert every effort and undertake all endeavors to further strengthen the bonds of cooperation across all fields.

His Majesty King Abdullah II, in turn, asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings and appreciation to his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, along with his sincere wishes to the brotherly United Arab Emirates and its dear people for continued prosperity, advancement and progress. His Majesty also wished Ambassador Al Shamsi every success in the performance of his duties.

Upon Ambassador Sultan Al Shamsi’s arrival at Basman Palace, the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates and the Jordanian Royal Anthem were played. Ambassador Al Shamsi then laid wreaths at the tombs of the late, His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal, His Majesty King Abdullah bin Al Hussein, the Founder King, and His Majesty King Talal bin Abdullah, may their souls rest in peace.

The credential presentation ceremony was attended by Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef Hassan Al Issawi and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi. Also in attendance from the Embassy were Counsellor Hamad Al Matroushi and Colonel Ali Al Kaabi, Military Attaché of the United Arab Emirates in Amman.
