Bilateral trade between the United Arab Emirates and Brazil reached a record USD 5.4 billion in 2024 — a 24.3% increase compared to 2023 — confirming the UAE as Brazil's second largest trading partner in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and Brazil as the UAE's largest trading partner in South America.
Brazilian exports to the UAE totalled USD 4.5 billion, representing growth of 43.5% year-on-year. Key export commodities include sugar and molasses (25%), poultry meat (21%), fresh beef (13%), and fuel oils (7.6%). Brazilian agribusiness plays an essential role in Emirati food security, supplying a significant share of demand in the local market.
UAE companies with active operations in Brazil include Mubadala, DP World, Emirates Airlines, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Yahsat, and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Together, these organisations contribute to Brazil's economic development across infrastructure, logistics, finance, and connectivity.
The ongoing negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Mercosur, alongside the bilateral Investment Cooperation and Facilitation Agreement already signed, are expected to further deepen economic ties between both nations in the coming years.
