The United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Norway enjoy a strong and steadily expanding economic partnership, supported by close political dialogue and complementary economic priorities. The UAE is Norway's second largest trading partner in the Middle East and North Africa, reflecting the importance of bilateral commercial ties.
In 2025, Norwegian exports of goods to the UAE totaled approximately NOK 5.3 billion, while imports from the UAE reached approximately NOK 3.9 billion.
The UAE also serves as a regional hub for Norwegian businesses. Approximately 300 Norwegian companies operate across the Middle East, with around 70 percent registered in the UAE. At the same time, Emirati investment in Norway continues to grow.
Economic cooperation spans a broad range of strategic sectors, including oil and gas, renewable energy, maritime industries, logistics, advanced technology, information and communications technology (ICT), and the food industry. As both countries continue to advance their economic diversification and sustainability agendas, new opportunities are emerging in clean energy, innovation, digital technologies, and other future-oriented industries.
