Economic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Zimbabwe have gained increasing strategic importance, driven by expanding investment, growing trade flows, and broader economic cooperation between the two friendly countries. Bilateral trade has recorded significant growth in recent years, exceeding USD 5 billion in 2025 and approaching USD 6 billion, according to official estimates and reports issued by national and international statistical institutions.
Investment and economic cooperation span a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, food security, energy, infrastructure, mining, logistics, trade, tourism, and technology. Emirati companies are also expanding their presence in Zimbabwe through various projects and partnerships, while Zimbabwean companies can benefit from the UAE’s dynamic and enabling investment environment.
Bilateral agreements provide an important framework for advancing economic relations between the two countries. These include agreements on the promotion and protection of investments, the avoidance of double taxation, and cooperation in air transport services.
