Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Guangzhou H.E. Mariam Saif Abdulla Masoud Alshamsi,

H.E. Mariam Saif Abdullah Masoud Al Shamsi has served as Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China, since 2024. She has built a distinguished diplomatic career spanning postings across Europe, North America, and East Asia, as well as key assignments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
H.E. began her diplomatic career at the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations, where she served from 2000 to 2013. She then joined the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in The Hague, serving as Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Political, Economic, and Media Affairs from 2013 to 2017, during which she contributed to strengthening UAE-European relations.
From 2017 to 2022, H.E. Al Shamsi headed the Public Diplomacy Section at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Beijing. Between 2019 and 2021, she also served as Acting Consul General at the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. She subsequently returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she served as Political Counselor in the East Asia and Pacific Department from 2022 to 2023, before assuming her current role as Consul General in Guangzhou in 2024.
H.E. Mariam Saif Abdullah Masoud Al Shamsi holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Fordham University in New York and a Master of Science degree from The New School in New York.
