The Consul General of the UAE confirms the positive results of the visit of His Excellency the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to the UAE
His Excellency Ahmed Al Dhaheri, Consul General of the UAE in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, said that the relations between the UAE and the region are strong and in progress and prosperity. He stressed that the recent visit of His Excellency Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, to the UAE will have positive results.
In an interview with Rudaw TV on March 9, 2023, he spoke about the distinguished bilateral relations between the UAE with Iraq, especially the Kurdistan Region, and about the visit of His Excellency Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, to the UAE. He said that the visit and the reception of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, "may God protect him", reflects the strength of the relationship, and the importance of consolidating it at all levels, and its results in the short term will be positive, in light of the existence of common interests between the UAE, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Regarding the presence of many Emirati companies in the Kurdistan Region, His Excellency the Consul General of the UAE said in the interview that this reflects a common desire, given the efforts of the leadership in the UAE and the Kurdistan Region to exchange investments, through businessmen and leading Emirati companies in many fields.
His Excellency the Consul General of the UAE confirmed the existence of several joint memorandums, including the government framework agreement between the UAE and the Kurdistan Region, and a memorandum to export agricultural crops from the Kurdistan Region to the UAE, which in turn would be a source to other countries.
