A delegation of the Council of Muslim Elders visits the Union of Islamic Religious Scholars in the Kurdistan Region

The delegation of the Islamic Council of Elders, in the presence of His Excellency Ahmed Al Dhaheri, Consul General of the UAE in the Kurdistan Region, visited the Union of Islamic Religious Scholars, during which they met with His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Wesi, President of the Union. Emphasis was placed on strengthening and developing relations, supporting common issues such as diversity issues, and spreading the concepts of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

During the meeting, the President of the Union of Religious Scholars in the Kurdistan Region welcomed the delegation of the General Secretariat of the Council of Muslim Elders, expressing his aspiration to enhance cooperation with the Council in spreading the values of tolerance and human coexistence, spreading moderation and moderation, and promoting societal peace, praising the great role of the Grand Imam, Sheikh Al-Azhar, Chairman of the Council of Elders, And the prominent role of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in consolidating the concepts of human brotherhood and peaceful coexistence in the world. His Excellency the President of the Union of Islamic Religious Scholars also praised the great efforts of the UAE on the humanitarian level and the relief activities of the UAE institutions in the Kurdistan Region by delivering aid to the displaced and refugees.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Council of Muslim Elders expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Union of Religious Scholars in the Kurdistan Region, stressing the Council's readiness to enhance cooperation with the Union of Scholars in order to enhance the role of religion in preserving the family entity and encouraging young people to participate positively in their societies.

For his part, His Excellency the Consul General of the UAE praised the Kurdistan Region and the experience of pluralism prevailing in it, and its distinguished scholars who had a great role in deepening peaceful coexistence between the various components in the region, as well as spreading Sharia sciences among the groups of society, stressing the UAE's keenness to promote Cooperation and joint action.
