The Consul General of the UAE in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq meets a delegation from the Contractors Union in Sulaymaniyah Governorate
His Excellency Ahmed Al Dhaheri, Consul General of the UAE to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, met with a delegation from the Contractors Union in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, headed by Mr. Aalan Karim, President of the Union, and with the membership of Messrs. Zain Abdullah, Lokman Babiker, Odir Abu Bakr Gharib, Lokman Ahmed Mahmoud, Aziz Muhammad Saleh, and Duraid Hussein. During the meeting, they discussed the prospects for cooperation between the Sulaymaniyah Governorate Contractors Union and the companies affiliated with the union with state companies.
His Excellency the UAE Consul General stressed the UAE’s interest in encouraging investments by its national companies in Iraq, especially in the Kurdistan region, and opening broader horizons and areas of cooperation with leading companies in the Iraqi Kurdistan region and encouraging them to work in the UAE.
For his part, the head of the Contractors Union in Sulaymaniyah Governorate pointed out that the volume of investments of the union’s members, numbering 1,200 businessmen and companies, amounts to two billion dollars and is mainly active in the sectors of real estate, agriculture, industry, and tourism, expressing a desire to cooperate with the UAE and its companies and establish partnerships by taking advantage of Investment opportunities available in Sulaymaniyah Governorate.
