The first economic relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United Arab Emirates emerged in the second decade of the 21st century. Their continuous economic cooperation dates back to February 17, 2013, when the Interstate Agreement on Cooperation was signed. The importance of this agreement lies in the opportunities it opened for strengthening economic ties and implementing a series of joint economic projects.
The United Arab Emirates represent a major global economic force, marked by rapid development, and their choice of Serbia as a strategic partner supports Serbia’s economic advancement in the region.
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Serbia was signed on October 5, 2024, in Belgrade, and officially entered into force on June 1, 2025.Economic cooperation between Serbia and the UAE is built on a strong foundation that has enabled numerous investments, such as:
