The United Arab Emirates and Turkmenistan maintain strong diplomatic relations, underscored by a series of high-level exchanges that have reinforced bilateral cooperation. Key milestones include the meeting between His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, in January 2024, followed by the official visit of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, to Turkmenistan in February 2025. His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has also held several meetings with H.E. Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

These engagements have advanced cooperation in key sectors, including energy, oil and gas, infrastructure, and food security. They also led to the inaugural UAE–Turkmenistan Business Forum in June 2024 and strengthened coordination through participation in major international events hosted by Turkmenistan, including the United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries and the Forum of Peace and Trust, as well as meetings held on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit in Dubai in February 2026.
