UAE EMBASSY IN PARIS HOSTS NETWORKING LUNCH TO DEEPEN UAE-FRANCE TIES IN SUSTAINABILITY
Today, Her Excellency Hend Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to France, hosted a networking lunch in collaboration with Masdar, which convened public and private sector actors from across France to discuss inspiring sustainability solutions and the Zayed Sustainability Prize, the UAE’s pioneering sustainability award.
The event saw Dr. Lamya Fawwaz, Executive Director of Brand & Strategic Initiatives at Masdar and Director of the Zayed Sustainability Prize, and Jérémy Gallet, Member of the Board of Administrators for Electricians Without Borders, address the audience to present their initiatives.
“The UAE and France are united in their commitment to fostering inclusive, sustainable development. Both countries see the transition to cleaner, more sustainable forms of energy and economic activity as a major growth opportunity.” said Her Excellency Hend Al Otaiba. “The UAE is proud to create synergies through its long-lasting partnerships with France in numerous sectors, including energy. And we are proud to offer solutions here today to transform these goals into concrete solutions.”
Dr. Lamya Fawwaz, Masdar, said: “Today is an opportunity to explore areas of collaboration to drive climate action and support global efforts to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals. At Masdar, we not only invest in clean energy projects, but we invite the world to match our passion for sustainable development with concrete solutions.”
The event marked the fifth edition of Majlon, a series of events by the UAE Embassy to build bridges between France and the UAE in key areas of mutual interest. The name Majlon is derived from the combination of the Emirati Majlis and the Parisian networking circles known as Salons.
Through Majlon, the UAE Embassy in Paris is delivering on its mandate of furthering French-Emirati relations as part of the UAE-France Strategic Dialogue. France is one of the UAE’s key strategic partners, with areas of collaboration spanning a wide range of sectors including energy (Masdar/Engie), education (Sorbonne Abu Dhabi), culture (Louvre Abu Dhabi), and defense (Rafale).
