Ambassador Sheikh Rahma met with Foreign Minister Shahid at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Monday.
During the meeting, Minister Shahid welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives and congratulated him on presenting his credentials as the Ambassador of the UAE to the Maldives.
Minister Shahid also expressed hope that the long-standing, close relations between the Maldives and the UAE will be further strengthened during the Ambassador’s term.
Maldivian Foreign Minister and the UAE Ambassador discussed prospects for further diversifying the partnership between the Maldives and the UAE. The Ambassador assured the commitment of the Government of UAE to advance the shared priorities and interests with the Maldives.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel; Secretary Bilateral, Dr. Hala Hameed; Joint Secretary, Mariyam Reesha; Director, Ahmed Fazeel; and Assistant Director, Mohamed Shahudhan Shaheem.
The UAE Ambassador also called on State Minister Khaleel, separately. During the meeting discussions were hled on avenues for increasing cooperation between the two countries.
