UAE investment important for development: President-elect

President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has highlighted the importance of receiving investments from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the development of the Maldives. He made the remark during a meeting with Ambassador of the UAE to the Maldives Sheikh Rahma Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Rahma Al Shamsi.

During the meeting, President-elect Muizzu expressed confidence that his administration will take the relations between the Maldives and the UAE to a higher level during his tenure and also strengthen relations with all Arab Islamic countries. He also thanked the Ambassador for the assistance provided by the UAE to Maldivian businesses and travelers and expressed hope that the UAE government, businesses, and investors will assist in his administration's developmental efforts.

In his response, Ambassador Al Shamsi assured that the UAE will provide its full assistance and cooperation for the development of the Maldives in various fields. He also discussed strengthening the close relationship between both countries.
