Santiago, Chile: The United Arab Emirates continues to strengthen its international presence in the equestrian field through its support for and organization of endurance competitions beyond its borders, guided by the conviction that sport serves as a bridge between peoples and a platform for strengthening international cooperation and promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise among countries and cultures.
His Excellency Mohammed Alneyadi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Chile, stated that the selection of Chile as the host country for this international sporting event reflects the confidence the United Arab Emirates places in its partnerships with South American countries, as well as its commitment to opening new horizons for the development of endurance riding and expanding its global reach.
He explained that holding the competition in Chile represents an opportunity to deepen sporting and cultural cooperation between the two countries, bringing together riders from different continents in a competition founded on respect, cooperation, and the exchange of knowledge and experience. He further highlighted that endurance riding has become an international platform for bringing peoples closer together and facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge in the equestrian field.
Ambassador Alneyadi noted that organizing the competition in Chile reaffirms the United Arab Emirates’ commitment to the growth and international development of endurance riding, in accordance with the highest standards applicable to the organization of such events and to the safety of horses and riders. He emphasized that the health and welfare of horses remain a fundamental priority throughout all stages of the competition, in full alignment with the international regulations and standards governing the discipline.
He added that the event also serves as a space for dialogue and cultural exchange, bringing together the UAE’s deeply rooted equestrian tradition with Chile’s distinctive natural environment and rich cultural diversity. This convergence contributes to strengthening mutual understanding and ties between the equestrian communities of the two countries, while opening new opportunities for the development of joint initiatives.
He further highlighted that this cooperation extends beyond the organization of the sporting competition itself and contributes to building a sustainable sporting legacy through the transfer of knowledge and expertise, the strengthening of local capacities, and support for national federations and entities responsible for organizing endurance competitions. These efforts contribute to the development of long-term capabilities and to strengthening the future of the discipline in host countries.
Ambassador Alneyadi affirmed that the organization of the competition in Chile also reflects the international role played by the United Arab Emirates in the equestrian field as a committed partner in the development of the discipline and in promoting the values of competition, respect, and responsibility. It also contributes to expanding participation in endurance riding and bringing the sport closer to new sporting communities.
He noted that the event will contribute to stimulating sports tourism and supporting the local economy through the arrival of riders, sporting delegations, media representatives, and spectators from different countries, while also providing a valuable opportunity to showcase Chile’s natural, cultural, and tourism attractions.
He indicated that the organization of an international endurance competition in Chile demonstrates that the discipline has become a global phenomenon capable of transcending geographical borders and bringing together diverse peoples and cultures around a shared passion for equestrian sport, endurance, and achievement. In this way, it contributes to strengthening cooperation among institutions, federations, and riders at the international level.
The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Chile expressed his hope that the event will become an established platform for strengthening the bonds of friendship and long-term cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Chile, as well as among international equestrian communities, paving the way for new joint initiatives and activities that contribute to the future of endurance riding worldwide.
In this context, H.E. Mohammed Alneyadi expressed his deep appreciation and recognition to the leadership of the United Arab Emirates, with particular appreciation for the extensive and continued support provided by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, to the development and international advancement of endurance competitions in different parts of the world.
