Economic Cooperation

  • Bilateral trade between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of India reached approximately $101.25 billion in fiscal year 2025–26, compared with approximately $100.05 billion in fiscal year 2024–25. The UAE remained India’s third-largest trading partner, while India was the UAE’s second-largest trading partner. India’s exports to the UAE totaled approximately $37.36 billion in fiscal year 2025–26.

  • In February 2022, India became the first country to sign a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE. The agreement entered into force on May 1, 2022. The two countries have since set a target of $200 billion in bilateral trade by 2032.

  • Investment is another pillar of the relationship. Major UAE investors and companies—including the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Mubadala, ADQ, International Holding Company (IHC), DP World, Emaar Properties, Emirates NBD, First Abu Dhabi Bank, and Mashreq—have invested across a range of sectors in India.
