The Ambassador

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of the Philippines and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Palau H.E. Mohamed Obaid Salem Al Qattam Alzaabi

His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Qattam has served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of the Philippines and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Palau since October 2021. His Excellency brings more than two decades of diplomatic experience, having held a range of assignments in UAE diplomatic missions abroad as well as leadership positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2002.

His Excellency served as Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the UAE in the United Republic of Tanzania from 2012 to 2014 and as Second Secretary at the UAE Embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium in 2008. Within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he held several key positions, including Director of the Foreign Nationals Affairs Department and Deputy Director of the Operations Department. He also served as a Diplomatic Attaché in both the Gulf Cooperation Council Affairs Department and the African Affairs Department.

As Ambassador of the UAE to the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency continues to advance bilateral relations and expand cooperation across a wide range of sectors.

During his tenure, bilateral relations have continued to advance, with the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding, most notably the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, signed on 13 January 2026.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UAE University.
