UAE Ambassador Participates in Launch of Ghaf Tree Planting Initiative in Bahrain

His Excellency Fahad Mohammed bin Kardous Al Ameri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Kingdom of Bahrain, participated in the launch of the planting of Ghaf trees in the Kingdom for the first time. The trees were gifted by the United Arab Emirates. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture; His Excellency Eng.

 Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works; His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate; and a number of officials.

During the ceremony, H.E. Al Mubarak emphasized the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates, its leadership and people, for its initiative to support Bahrain’s efforts to expand afforestation, thereby contributing to environmental sustainability and addressing the challenges posed by climate change.

He also commended the role of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the UAE Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain in launching the Ghaf tree planting initiative. A total of 37,000 Ghaf trees will be planted in Khalifa City in the Southern Governorate, as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to achieve its goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2060.

H.E. Al Ameri affirmed the depth of the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and the continuation of cooperation and joint efforts in a manner that contributes to achieving their desired development goals. He noted that the initiative reflects the fraternal cooperation between the two countries in the field of Ghaf tree cultivation and sustainable development, helping to ensure a more sustainable future for generations to come.
