A significant contribution of Emirati companies to the investment sector in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq

His Excellency Ahmed Al Dhaheri, Consul General of the UAE in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, announced the contribution of about 150 Emirati companies in the investment sector in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, stressing the work to create links between businessmen and investors in the Kurdistan Region with the Emirates Authority for Investment Abroad.

His Excellency the Consul General of the UAE said, in an interview with the Kurdish-language Rudaw TV channel, that the United Arab Emirates is the largest investing country in the Kurdistan Region and has about 150 companies operating in the region and their businesses are very successful. The biggest example of the success of Emirati investment in the Kurdistan Region is Dana Gas, which is considered One of the most important companies investing in the oil and gas sector. In addition to many companies that keep pace with the Kurdistan Region's strategy of economic diversification.

He explained that the UAE has started cooperation in the file of food security and has received shipments of agricultural crops produced in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

His Excellency the Consul General of the UAE spoke about the distinguished relationship of the UAE with the Kurdistan Region, and the visits of the leaders of the region to the UAE, which were met with a warm welcome by the leaders and officials of the UAE, and all of these matters reflect this relationship, its strength and the level it has reached.

He said that the leaders of the Kurdistan Region enjoy a distinguished relationship with the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, and an official invitation was sent to His Excellency President Nechirvan Barzani to visit the UAE and meet with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, "may God protect him", and this reflects the continuity, consolidation and strength of this relationship.

His Excellency the Consul General of the UAE revealed the prospective establishment of a higher investment council for businessmen investing in the Kurdistan Region, and their communication with the Emirates Investment Authority abroad will be facilitated. All these data reflect the utmost interest in consolidating economic relations.

And he announced that a team had been formed between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the government of the UAE, in which the Consulate General, through the Prime Minister's Office, plays a major role, through which we seek to increase cooperation in the field of electronic services and contribute to strengthening the pioneering role of the United Arab Emirates in this field.
