Economic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United Republic of Tanzania are characterized by cooperation across several vital sectors. UAE investments in Tanzania are diverse, spanning telecommunications, hospitality, tourism, and agriculture; the UAE’s presence in the hospitality sector is particularly notable through various hotels in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, and Arusha.
Tanzania’s economy is diverse and resilient, with agriculture contributing approximately one-quarter of value-added output, industry accounting for one-third, and services making up the remainder. In 2024, the country's GDP reached $78.84 billion, ranking second in East Africa—after Kenya—and tenth across the African continent.
Regarding foreign trade, exports totaled $17.6 billion in 2025, driven by the tourism sector and gold exports; the latter surged by 37.4% to reach $4.7 billion, representing 45.7% of total merchandise exports. Tanzania’s trade is concentrated among ten key partners, led by India, China, the UAE, and South Africa.
Economic cooperation between the two nations also extends to the aviation sector, with numerous flights operating between them; notably, Emirates and flydubai operate daily flights to Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.
