A driving licence issued by the United Arab Emirates may be used in the Republic of Serbia for a period of up to 90 days. Likewise, a Serbian driving licence may be used in the United Arab Emirates for a period of up to 90 days. Travellers are advised to carry their original driving licence and the required documents while driving and to comply with the traffic laws and regulations applicable in the Republic of Serbia.

Documents issued in the Republic of Serbia and drawn up in the Serbian language must first be translated into English or Arabic by an authorised court translator. The original documents and their translations must then be certified by the competent basic court in the city where the document was issued, followed by certification by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, and finally by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Belgrade. Both the original document and its translation must be certified.

UAE nationals are advised to register with the “Tawajudi” service through the website or smart application of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before travelling and to keep the emergency telephone number designated for UAE nationals abroad: +971 800 24. In emergencies involving an immediate threat to life or safety, please contact the local emergency services: the police at 192, ambulance services at 194, and the fire service at 193.

The entry requirements for domestic workers accompanying UAE nationals to the Republic of Serbia depend on the nationality of the domestic worker and the type of passport they hold. Applicants are advised to verify the visa requirements with the competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia and to complete the necessary procedures sufficiently in advance of travel. Individuals and legal entities from the United Arab Emirates that engage in business activities in the Republic of Serbia may acquire ownership of real estate necessary for conducting those activities, in accordance with the principle of reciprocity. Likewise, individuals from the United Arab Emirates who do not engage in business activities in the Republic of Serbia may acquire ownership of an apartment or residential building under the same conditions applicable to citizens of the Republic of Serbia, in accordance with the principle of reciprocity. This includes ownership of the land on which the residential building is constructed or on which the apartment is located, as well as land necessary for their regular use. However, foreign individuals and legal entities may not acquire ownership of agricultural land in the Republic of Serbia, unless otherwise provided by the Law on Agricultural Land.
