The project of Sheikh Zayed university construction was started in 2005 and ended in 2008. The project has been funded by UAE government. The university is located in Khost province, 200 km from the Afghan capital, Kabul. This university includes 12 faculties including (medical, engineering, political science, Islamic studies, economic, journalism, Veterinary, political science and public relation and Computer Science). The university has 260 lectures, and the number of students in university is : 8386 , including7837 boys and 536 girls. Since the beginning of the university number of 13108 students have been graduated, 1298 boys and 122 girls.
