The agreement for the construction of the Sheikh Zayed Hospital (200 beds) for mother and child has been signed between the Government of the United Arab Emirates (Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan charity foundation) and Islamic republic of Afghanistan ( ministry of public health) in September 2006. The project was funded by UAE government. the hospital is located in north of (Kabul international airport) in Qasaba area of Kabul province. The hospital is constructed in 40 hectare of government land.
The construction works of the aforementioned hospital has been done in several stages.
Based on instructions of Afghan ministry of public health the services of Sheikh Zayed hospital has changed from (mother and child) to the field of neurology and neurosurgery for children and the adults
Currently the hospital is the only neurology and neurosurgery service center which is currying the complex neurosurgery and back operations for elder’s and children in Afghanistan.
