Travelling Suggestion and Advice

UAE citizens should register under the section of (Twajudi) Service on the official website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates. 

  • Please safeguard personal documentation, and show them only when required by Chinese police in uniforms.  
  • Please keep passports in safe places, and carry copies of passports at all times and places (i.e. copies of pages where personal information and visas or residence permits.)
  • Please safeguard personal possessions against being lost at all times. 
  • It is advisable to carry the hotel or resident address in Chinese and English at all times. 
  • When taking a taxi, please make sure of destinations and inform taxi drivers precisely, and safeguard personal possessions against being lost on journeys. Please remember to claim receipts.   
  • Please claim receipts or invoices when purchasing goods.  

China is a big country of diversity in culture, religion and ethnicity, in which peaceful co-existence is the norm. Visitors should respect local customs and religious beliefs. 

Religious sites including Islamic sites can be found in China. According to Chinese government, Chinese citizens and foreign visitors have freedom to engage in religious activities allowed , i.e.:

  • It is not allowed to release or spread any information of all religions outside permitted religious sites.  
  • It is illegal to organize religious meetings and activities without permission of the Chinese government or local authorities. Foreign visitors must refrain from religious meetings and activities outside permitted religious sites. 

Visas of different types (or residence permits) are issued with regards to visiting purposes of different kinds. Visitors should understand requirements of different types of visas or residence permits, and avoid conflicts with them.

Forbidden articles are not allowed entry and exit to China:

  • All kinds of weapons, bullets, explosives and toxics. 
  • Local and foreign notes and coins in fakery. 
  • Electronic storage such as CD and print materials such as books and magazines which are harmful to Chinese politics, economy, culture, morals and customs. 
  • Opium, morphine, heroin and other narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
  • Animals, plants and their derivative products which contain pernicious bacteria, pests and other harmful biological components.  
  • Endangered and rare animals, plants, seeds and materials for their breeding and reproduction.

According to Chinese laws, it falls into criminal acts any use of drug, prostitution, fighting and brawling indoors and out of doors.
