H.E Mohammed Abdullah bin Khater Al Shamsi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Colombia since 2024, is a diplomat with extensive experience spanning over two decades in the field of international relations and diplomacy.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from Ohio State University, as well as a Master's degree in International Relations from Alfonso X El Sabio University. He has held important leadership positions in several diplomatic missions of the United Arab Emirates, including Deputy Head of Mission in Buenos Aires and Deputy Head of Mission in Madrid, as well as Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of the UAE to the People's Republic of China, and Advisor in the Office of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Consul General in Barcelona.
His Excellency also served as the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Peru from 2020 to 2024, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries and promoting cooperation in various fields. He effectively represented the UAE in numerous international conferences and meetings, advocating for the interests of the country on the international stage.
In recognition of his valuable contributions, Ambassador Al Shamsi was honored with the "Sun of Peru" medal with the rank of "Grand Cross". Ambassador Al Shamsi is proficient in Arabic, English, and Spanish.
