The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the agreement announced during talks held in the Republic of North Macedonia on implementing a European Union-sponsored plan to normalize relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Kosovo.
Her Excellency Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the UAE to the UN, commended the implementation agreement, noting that it represents an important step towards strengthening regional and international peace and security.
In this regard, Her Excellency emphasized the UAE’s support for international law, particularly respect for the sovereignty of states, non-interference in internal affairs, and the peaceful resolution of disputes.
In light of pressing global challenges, Her Excellency stated, the UAE believes in the necessity of building bridges of cooperation and dialogue to resolve disputes and enhance confidence in a way that brings together multiple points of view.
Moreover, Her Excellency expressed appreciation for the role of the European Union in facilitating the implementation agreement, underscoring the UAE's readiness to support this EU-backed process. Her Excellency also highlighted the importance of joint efforts to advance diplomacy and dialogue.
Her Excellency remarked that the UAE enjoys deep-rooted relations with Serbia and Kosovo and looks forward to bolstering cooperation to achieve common interests.
The UAE, Her Excellency stated, affirms its aspiration for the agreement to succeed, thereby contributing to regional stability and enhancing prosperity and development for the people of Serbia, Kosovo, and all Western Balkan nations.
